Who the heck is emma Fran?
Hi ya’ll!! I’m Emma Fran aka Emma Pasteris. Fran is short for my middle name Frances. I was named after a lot of strong women on my dad’s and mom’s side of the family. Who would have thought they would both have hella Emma Frances’ in their family trees lol.
Growing up, I grew up on my family farm that has been in my family since 1961. I grew up riding horses and playing volleyball. I am super competitive and like to think I’m an athlete even though I’m only five feet tall. I also think I’m a comedian with all my self proclaimed savvy wit.
When I was 14 I found out I had a fancy cyst in my brain that changed my life. I had to have brain surgery and it totally changed the way I looked at life. Sometimes I think it’s what took me on my path to being a wedding planner since I couldn’t play sports in high school anymore. That’s when I fell in love with floral design. I started taking classes and would do floral projects on the weekends for my friends or family.
I eventually went to college for Agriculture and continued to take up floral design, but something wasn’t fitting right. I ended up graduating with a degree in Agriculture Communication from Illinois State University and had no idea what I was going to do with this degree. I was already working part time for my parents managing their wedding venue’s social media account, but I needed something more! Enter Miss Corona while I’m trying to apply for jobs!
Clearly I wasn’t getting a job anywhere. Luckily, my parents convinced me to work for them as a wedding planner since I was struggling. I didn't think that I would like wedding planning, but while I was training… I LOVED it! I was always busy, I was getting to work with people and flowers, I was still able to manage my social accounts, and create my own schedule. I will say, in the beginning I had $0 in my bank account. You don’t make much wedding planning until you start booking couples and have a portfolio and reviews to show your work.
People thought it was so cool when I told them I was training to be a wedding planner so I decided to start a blog while I was training called “Emma Fran Events”. It was so fun, I had surprisingly a lot of support, and it helped me make money and build up clientele.
In my post before this, I explain that when my sister died I deleted my website and blog for a much needed break, but I’m back!
Now, I’m 27 (ew). I’m getting married this November to the love of my life!!! I have a dog named Carti and my childhood cat Shevy. Yes, I know, Shevy should be spelled with a C, but he is 22 years old.. I can’t go changing his name now!
When I’m not planning my wedding or other people’s events, I am celebrating the little things in life with friends! I’m a foodie and I love to host! I love reading, working out, and listening to music! I am the biggest reality TV queen. My favorites are Big Brother and The Real Housewives. I will grace your screen on both of these shows one day, don’t you worry.
I’m an Aquarius with a lot of Virgo in my chart which I honestly think makes me a kick ass wedding planner. It gives eclectic finesse with my style, my personality, my event planning., everything I do! You can always expect bold, but delicate.
Okay.. Enough about me. I gotta save some of my personality for the future reality shows I’m going to be on.. lmao
